Joy Brown, Founder & CEO of ScaleJOY

Joy’s mission is to make high performance sustainable so that success and joy scale together

As the Founder & CEO of ScaleJOY, Joy works with CEOs, executive teams, and people leaders who know the old models of HR and leadership development no longer work — and are ready to build what’s next.

Your company, your teams, your people — they won’t benefit from an off-the-shelf, plug-and-play offsite or manager training curriculum.

They need development solutions that are custom-built to your values, corporate structure, and position in the marketplace.

To get there, leaders have to reimagine corporate people leadership. Developing better leaders isn’t a box to check — it’s an investment in the core driver of business success and the highest-leverage opportunity a business has for sustained growth.

And yet, most HR departments are overwhelmed, saddled with an impossible scope, and given insufficient support.

True leadership promotes trust, clarity, and progress, not burnout, confusion, and attrition.

Charlotte Cameron is a people operations leader, executive coach, and facilitator with over a decade of experience helping organizations build the infrastructure that makes great leadership possible. Before joining ScaleJOY, she spent years working across operations, management, and organizational development and before that, as a Marriage and Family Therapist, where she developed a deep fluency in systems thinking, human behavior, and what actually drives change in groups. That clinical foundation shapes everything about how she works: she’s trained to see the patterns beneath the surface, and to help teams name what’s not working before designing something better.

Charlotte believes culture isn’t a perk or a tagline, it’s built deliberately, practiced consistently, and felt in how people show up every day. When it’s working, it produces something rare: teams that generate results and individuals who are genuinely growing.

Allison Crooks is a People leader, executive coach, and facilitator with over 15 years of experience working with leaders and organizations navigating growth and change. She spent over 8 years as Head of People and Operations at A24, the high growth entertainment company, and before that held People Operations roles across tech and media industries, developing deep expertise in talent strategy, leadership development, organizational planning, and operational excellence.
A Columbia University-certified executive coach with a background in Psychology from Barnard College, Allison is particularly drawn to the nuances of human behavior and the grey areas where the most meaningful conversations, decisions, and changes take place. She works with clients one on one to discover and support their goals, in career and in life.
Allison believes organizations thrive when they acknowledge the complexity of human beings and design around it rather than against it. Her approach is practical, honest, and down to earth, with a healthy dose of fun.

She lives in Southcoast Massachusetts with her family.

Joy is a leadership whisperer for the modern era as she guides executives, teams, and entire organizations toward more human-centered, high-performing cultures.

She’s not here to play the game. She’s here to change it.

Joy is a wonderful facilitator… She has very strong leadership and project management skills. It’s been an honor working with her, and she will continue to be an asset.

Jen Newbaue, Associate Director of Training Programs @ Korn Ferry

Executives in high-growth environments need to pursue professional development with both practicality and agility, as every day brings unforeseen opportunities and challenges. I’ve been fortunate to have Joy as a coach.

Joe Sawyer, CMO @ Flashpoint Threat Intelligence

Ask anyone who knows Joy and they’ll say that Joy was blessed with being true to her name – Joy is quite simply a joy to have around…I kept thinking how lucky we all were to have Joy guiding us through this challenging year. Joy certainly helped me grow and knows the perfect balance of providing support and guidance.

Joy is awesome as a leader of leaders, and often guided me on the importance of how educating and influencing is just as important (if not more) as executing on a vision.

Joy’s patience and willingness to help anyone and everyone in the organization made Joy feel accessible by all and motivated us in the People team to do the best job we can.  Thank you, Joy, for all your support and guidance!

Armi Noorata, Global Head of People Ops

Each program Joy facilitated was highly rated by participants for being relevant, practical, and actionable. Leaders consistently left the sessions energized and eager for more. As a facilitator, Joy brings authenticity, adaptability, and a deeply human approach to the room. She has a remarkable ability to adjust in real time to meet the audience’s needs. For example, during one of our sessions following a major layoff, Joy and I quickly collaborated to adapt the agenda, creating space for managers to process their emotions and navigate the situation together. This adjustment not only validated their feelings but also allowed them to engage productively with the session.

Sara Valin-Bloom, COO @ Bloom Dermatology

Joy’s optimism, enthusiasm, and vision make her a visionary in the HR field.

Katherine Corwin, Lead Employee Relations Partner @ Zocdoc

Thank you for the feedback you shared during our last call. It really resonated with me, and the changes I made as a result have helped me show up as the truer version of myself, not only in interviews but also at work and at home. It’s only been 2 weeks, but I have introduced new little habits into my days. Admittedly, having a new job that I am genuinely incredibly stoked for and where I already feel wanted and valued, plus the small changes, have really made a difference. I feel like the person I disassociated from over the last few years, and it feels freaking fantastic to be getting back to her.

Director of People & Talent Coaching Client

Given I won’t be attending future sessions, I did want to let you know that I really appreciated your approach and the way you coordinated your workshops. You’re clearly deeply experienced, and I was more even impressed with your incredible patience and understanding of the need for people to work through the fundamentals in order to change. Patience is not a virtue I possess, so I have tremendous respect for those who do!

Hopefully our paths will cross again in the future, but if not, thanks again and great to see you work.Hopefully our paths will cross again in the future, but if not, thanks again and great to see you work.

Dan Craig, Director of Growth at Massive Rocket

As an HR leader, Joy taught me how to be a dynamic, objective, and quick-on-my-feet strategic HR Business Partner to leaders in a fast-paced startup environment…

Katherine Merrill-Nabhan, SVP of People & Performance

I have so much to say about this experience.

Joining this cohort was one of the best decisions I’ve made recently.

It was part professional development, part therapy session, and part advice exchange with a group of people who sit in roles where we rarely get to speak openly about the things we carry.

The result? Real learning. A lot of laughter. Trust.

And meaningful connections with people who truly understand the work.

If the next cohort is even a little like Cohort 3… you’ll want to be in the room.

Roxanna Flores, Global HR Executive

Joy is instinctively good, which is pretty rare in my experience.

Sankaet Pathak, CEO of Foundation Robotics
